The Köckerling Gravo is especially suitable for quickly and efficiently chopping cover crops, rapeseed, and corn stubble, thus preparing them for the next processing step. The use of a knife roller generally results in low fuel consumption and high area coverage. The Gravo is designed to be configured as needed. This allows for front-mounted or rear-mounted operation.
Various additional equipment, such as a multiple harrow, makes the machine universally applicable. The working widths are tailored to the Köckerling product portfolio, allowing the Gravo to be perfectly combined with various tillage implements.
The roller bodies have a drawn-type design, which positively impacts the machine's longevity. Both roller bodies can adapt independently to the soil contour and pivot back in an arc upon encountering a foreign object. The blades of both roller bodies are spiraled in opposite directions, preventing both rotors from cutting into the exact same spot. This creates an "X"-shaped cut through the organic material. This arrangement also allows the Gravo to achieve higher cutting pressure on the blade and smooth operation. The open design guarantees high operational reliability; excavated soil falls through this construction.
The Gravo is equipped as standard with a headstock for the tractor's rear hydraulics. To enable the machine to be used in combination with a cultivator or disc harrow, for example, the Gravo can be optionally equipped with a passively steered front mounted headstock. The passive steering enables excellent maneuverability, even at high speeds.
To optimally ballast the machine, it can be equipped with 10 additional weight plates. This increases the total weight by 450 kg and significantly improves the cutting effect of the blades. For convenient handling, the additional weights can be attached and removed without tools.
The additional weights are placed flat on the folding parts, providing a good view of the area behind the machine.
To place the organic matter in the direction of travel before the blades are worked, the Köckerling Gravo can be equipped with an optional impact bar. This increases the effect of the first roller and improves the machine's working appearance.
With the help of the impact bar, stubble or cover crops are placed close to the ground and perpendicular to the cutting direction.
To subsequently optimize straw distribution and stimulate volunteer crops to germinate, the machine can be equipped with a three-row following harrow. This can be continuously adjusted hydraulically from the driver's seat while working. The triple harrow has a tine spacing of 100 mm.
The multi-row design of the harrow provides sufficient space for the organic matter despite the narrow tine spacing, and the crop flow is not obstructed. A clearly visible scale shows how aggressively the harrow is currently working.
