Whether conventional seeding or mulch seeding, the Vitu fits into any arable farming concept. To meet the requirements of a high-performance seed drill, the Vitu is equipped with a double-row disc harrow. Following this, an offset tyre packer provides the necessary reconsolidation before the seed is precisely placed with double disc coulters. This makes the Vitu ideal for precise sowing, even at high forward speeds. For fertiliser application, the Vitu can be equipped with a row of fertiliser coulters, in front of the wheel packer.
A two-row disc harrow is integrated in the front section of the Vitu. In this way, the soil is first worked shallow and thus optimally prepared for sowing. The discs have a diameter of 450 mm and are individually suspended on a leaf spring. The line spacing corresponds to that of the double disc coulters. Due to the strong cutting angle of the discs, the seedbed is optimally levelled. With the hydraulic depth adjustment, the working depth can be conveniently set from the tractor while driving. The depth can be seen at any time on the clearly visible scale.
The Vitu wheel packer ensures ideal reconsolidation, as each wheel is responsible for two coulters. Regardless of tyre pressure, reconsolidation remains constant for all coulters. The wheels in two rows ensure smooth operation of the Vitu even at high speeds. The structure designed in this way enables trouble-free passage on light soil and allows the wheels to pass stones and other obstacles with ease.
The double disc coulter is the guarantor for the precise seed placement of the Vitu. The seed is guided through a plastic tube arranged between the discs directly onto the soil surface, in order to maintain the placement position precisely even at high working speeds. A plastic lip above this prevents the individual grains from jumping out. A scraper with a tungsten carbide edge is used to clean the discs. An excellent protection against obstacles is the suspension on a leaf spring. With a maximum coulter pressure of 130 kg, the double disc coulter always penetrates the soil reliably, even on very dry and hard surfaces.
Optimum reconsolidation is ensured by the downstream pressure roller made of flexible polyurethane. This material prevents the soil from caking and guarantees the Vitu a high degree of operational reliability.
The coulter pressure is set either mechanically via a staking linkage or via a hydraulic cylinder. With the hydraulic version, the coulter pressure is set via the operating terminal and can be adjusted to changing conditions by pressing a button. With this variant, the coulter pressure increase can be coupled with the multi-quantity control, so that, for example, more/less seed and at the same time more/less coulter pressure can be given when soil conditions change.
The adjustable following harrow of the Vitu ensures a successful finish. The following harrow optimally levels the seed furrows and produces fine soil for covering. When there is no need, it can be completely deactivated without tools.
The Vitu 300 and Vitu 400 machines have a seed tank with a capacity of 2,700 litres. With the Vitu 600, there is the option of choosing a single tank with 3,700 litres or a double tank with 4,300 litres capacity. To prevent foreign bodies from entering the metering unit, the seed tank is fitted with a robust, walkable grille. To detect the fill level, the seed tank is equipped with two sensors in different positions.
The self-developed metering unit is hydraulically driven and reliably delivers the desired amount of seed into the air flow to the distributor. Thanks to its polyurethane cell wheels, the metering unit seals itself automatically, so that no pressure tank or injector system is required. With the hydraulic drive, an excess or shortfall in seed rate can be activated at any time.
As standard, the Vitu has a practical tool box made of robust plastic. The spacious and lockable box is water- and dust-proof.
Equipping the machine with a brake system is recommended.
Tracks from the tractor are loosened by hercules tines with adjustable aggressiveness. These are folded in hydraulically at the end of the field.
For additional levelling and crumbling of the soil in front of the tyre packer, the Vitu can be equipped with a robust level board. This allows furrows to be levelled and soil aggregates to be crushed again.
Optionally, the Vitu can be equipped with a pre-emergence marker. The discs leave a very visible mark for the following operation.
With the massive tram line marker, markings can be optimally created for the connecting runs. The large, discs leave a clearly visible track and are individually adjustable.
In order to be able to work safely even in difficult conditions, for example at dusk or at night, the Vitu is optionally available with bright LED work lights and a high-quality reversing camera.
For filling the tank, the Vitu can be optionally equipped with a practical loading auger. The loading auger is mounted at the rear of the machine and does not have to be folded down during work. Loading times can thus be shortened and significantly simplified. Machines with a double tank (Vitu Combi) can be equipped with two loading augers.
For monitoring all seed hoses Köckerling offers an optional seed flow control. A signal is immediately triggered, if a fault actually occurs in the hose system.
To prevent too much seed being sown twice in the event of overlaps, e.g. due to certain tramline rhythms or at the end of the field, the Vitu can be equipped with half-side shut-off. In this case, the outlets of the distributor head are fitted with adjusting flaps, which can then be closed at the push of a button, if required. The seed rate is adjusted accordingly.
With the Vitu - Combi, sowing can be combined with the application of fertiliser. For this purpose, the Vitu - Combi is equipped with a row of fertiliser discs or fertiliser tubes with which the fertiliser is placed in front of the wheel packer, in each case between two seed rows.
